Course Objective:

In this Comic Writing course, students develop creative writing and storytelling skills through the exciting world of comics while learning character creation, dialogue, pacing, humor, and visual storytelling techniques.

Course Description:

Our Comic Writing course for kids is an exciting 8-week online class designed for students in grades 5+ who love comics, drawing, storytelling, and creative writing. In this fun and interactive program, students learn how to turn their ideas into original comics filled with humor, action, and imagination.

Throughout this comic writing course for kids, students explore the essential building blocks of comic storytelling, including panels, dialogue, pacing, tone, character development, and visual humor. Each week introduces new skills through engaging lessons, guided activities, and creative comic projects.

Students will create:

• Single-panel comics
• Funny gag strips
• Emotion-based comics
• Lesson comics
• Multi-panel story comics
• Original heroes and sidekicks
• A final long comic project

As students progress through the comic writing course for kids, they will gain confidence in writing, planning stories, expressing emotions, and using words and pictures together to communicate clearly.
