Course Objective:
To give experienced students a final opportunity to write five-paragraph essays in both research and literary analysis styles with greater independence, confidence, and speed.

Course Description:

Students who have completed the earlier courses in the 5 Paragraph Paper series may enroll in this advanced class for additional challenge and refinement. In this course, students will develop the advanced five paragraph essay while writing both research-based papers and literary analysis essays.

During the course, students will:

• • Write both research papers and literary analysis essays

  • Practice moving between these two forms of writing with fluency and efficiency

  • Strengthen their ability to organize ideas and support arguments clearly

  • Develop strong thesis statements for each paper

  • Write effective introductions and conclusions

  • Build clear, well-developed body paragraphs

  • Use logical organization and transitions between ideas

  • Draft and revise their work to produce polished final papers

At this level, students are expected to demonstrate a full understanding of essay structure and to write with increasing independence and efficiency. By the end of the course, students should feel confident completing an advanced five paragraph essay independently while maintaining clarity, organization, and strong academic style.
