Daily Writing I & II

Posts on Thursdays (Grades 6-12)

Course Objective:
This daily writing course is designed to give students a structured way to practice writing regularly, receive detailed feedback, and improve their personal writing skills over time.

Course Description:
Students in this daily writing course will respond to a unique writing prompt four days each week, helping them develop consistency, creativity, and fluency in writing. Each prompt is designed to be completed in approximately 15–20 minutes, making it manageable while still fostering skill growth and developing good habits.

All submitted work receives individualized feedback, covering:

    • Content formation and idea development

    • Paragraph organization and logical flow

    • Line-by-line editing for clarity and grammar

Students also receive personal coaching on how to improve their writing and are required to submit a revised version of one prompt response each week, reinforcing the importance of revision and reflective practice.

The course helps students:

    • Build a daily writing habit

    • Strengthen clarity, organization, and style in their work

    • Gain confidence in expressing ideas effectively

    • Learn how to self-edit and revise for improvement

By the end of the course, students will have a portfolio of polished writing pieces and a stronger sense of voice and technique. This daily writing course is ideal for students seeking consistent practice, personalized feedback, and growth in writing ability, whether for academic success, creative expression, or skill development.

With a manageable daily schedule, structured prompts, and thoughtful guidance, this course ensures that students develop lasting writing habits while improving both the technical and creative aspects of their work.
