Course Objective
The Sentence Diagramming Course provides students with advanced insight into grammar usage and sentence structure. Learners will analyze the roles of words in sentences and develop skills to construct clear, well-formed syntax. By the end of the course, students will be able to:
Identify the role of each word in a sentence
Diagram sentences to visualize structure and relationships
Improve sentence clarity, syntax, and grammar application
Build on prior knowledge from Grammar I and II courses
Apply diagramming techniques to strengthen overall writing skills
Course Description
This sentence diagramming course teaches students how to break down sentences and understand how each word functions. Treating sentence diagramming like a puzzle, learners will build on the foundation of subjects and verbs, progressively adding phrases, clauses, and more complex grammatical structures.
Students will practice:
Diagramming basic and complex sentences to see grammatical relationships
Applying proper syntax, punctuation, and sentence construction
Building confidence in identifying parts of speech and grammatical roles
Reviewing concepts from Grammar I and II while deepening understanding
Using diagramming as a tool to improve clarity, precision, and overall writing quality
