Course Objective
The Journalism Course introduces students to the fundamentals of reporting and journalistic writing. Learners will develop the skills needed to write clearly, concisely, and objectively while understanding journalistic standards. By the end of the course, students will be able to:

    • Write accurate, unbiased, and well-structured news articles

    • Develop a professional journalistic voice

    • Apply proper grammar, style, and formatting for different submissions

    • Meet deadlines and manage weekly journalistic assignments

    • Understand various forms of reporting, from news stories to feature articles

Course Description
This course teaches students the essentials of journalism and reporting, guiding them through the process of creating clear, concise, and professional content. Each week, learners will focus on a different type of journalistic submission, gaining hands-on experience in writing news articles, features, interviews, and opinion pieces.

Students will practice:

    • Applying journalistic techniques for clarity, accuracy, and objectivity

    • Developing their own reporting and writing style

    • Using proper formatting, grammar, and voice tailored to each assignment

    • Adhering to deadlines and managing multiple submissions

    • Exploring real-world examples to understand professional journalistic standards

By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation in journalism, equipped to write engaging and accurate news stories, develop a strong journalistic voice, and prepare for more advanced reporting and media projects.
