Course Objective
The Let’s Write Sentences course helps students improve their sentence structure, eliminating incomplete and run-on sentences while deepening content. By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

• • Identify and correct sentence fragments, run-ons, fused sentences, and comma splices

  • Write clear, complete, and grammatically correct sentences

  • Expand sentences using the 5 W’s (who, what, where, when, why) and descriptive language

  • Build confidence in writing coherent and engaging sentences

  • Apply sentence-writing skills across essays, paragraphs, and creative writing

Course Description
This sentence writing course is designed for students who need support recognizing and fixing incomplete and run-on sentences. Starting with the fundamentals, learners will explore sentence structure, learn to spot fragments and fused sentences, and correct comma splices.

Students will also practice:

• • Strengthening sentences with details, descriptive language, and the 5 W’s

  • Building coherent and clear writing across all assignments

  • Applying techniques to essays, paragraphs, and creative work

  • Developing confidence in crafting polished, grammatically correct sentences

By the end of this course, students will have a solid foundation in sentence writing, capable of producing complete, clear, and engaging sentences. These skills provide the essential building blocks for stronger paragraphs, essays, and overall writing success.
