Each year our Student Literary Magazine Internship gives one motivated student the opportunity to help produce the next edition of Scribbler’s Ink, the Online Scribblers literary magazine. The magazine is published as a digital e-zine and showcases outstanding writing from our student community.
**Note: This is an unpaid internship opportunity**
The selected student intern will work closely with the supervising editor to guide Scribbler’s Ink from a collection of submissions to a fully published literary magazine.
Responsibilities may include:
Helping conceptualize the magazine’s theme
Reviewing and organizing student submissions
Assisting with editorial decisions
Contributing to magazine layout and design
Helping prepare the final publication of the digital e-zine
No previous experience is required. We are looking for a student who is enthusiastic, responsible, collaborative, and able to work independently.
As the school year progresses, the intern will be encouraged to take on increasing responsibility depending on their interests and comfort level.

Internship period: December 2025 – May 2026
The internship includes periodic Zoom meetings for collaboration and planning. Meetings are scheduled around the intern’s availability and increase to bi-weekly sessions in April and May as the magazine approaches publication.
This high school literary magazine internship is ideal for students who:
Love creative writing, storytelling, or poetry
Are interested in editing, publishing, or journalism
Want hands-on experience working on a student literary magazine
Are curious about how a magazine goes from submission to publication
Want to strengthen their college applications and resumes
Students who enjoy reading others’ work and helping shape a creative publication will find this internship especially rewarding.
The Student Editor Intern will gain real-world experience in editorial decision-making, creative collaboration, and digital publishing while helping produce Scribbler’s Ink, the Online Scribblers literary magazine.

Designing an engaging and unique cover design
Reading and assisting in the proofing of submissions for appropriate content
Designing & creating an attractive & cohesive magazine layout using online magazine software and Canva teams
Communicating & collaborating with supervising editor
Writing a foreword for the edition prior to publication
Must be in grades 8-12 for the 2025/26 school year
Must be a current or former student with Online Scribblers
Must be enthusiastic about writing and encouraging new talent
Must have a collaborative mindset
Must have good time management skills and ability to work independently
