Course Objective:
In Zoo Tour: A Creative Writing Adventure, students will “tour” a virtual zoo, exploring a new animal each week while developing their creative writing skills. Through engaging videos, fun activities, and imaginative writing prompts, students will learn about different animals and their habitats while practicing descriptive, narrative, and perspective-based writing. As they progress, students will complete a personalized zoo map, bringing each section of the zoo to life.
Course Description:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
Write creatively from different perspectives
Use descriptive language to enhance their writing
Organize ideas into short narratives
Identify key facts about animals and their habitats
Engage in fun, interactive learning activities
Each week includes:
Short video lesson about an animal
Fun Facts Worksheet (to be filled in while watching the video)
Activity (puzzle, game, or design task)
Creative writing prompt
