Student Internship opportunity

Online Scribblers has amazing high school students who are both enthusiastic writers and ambitious for new experiences and opportunities. 

Our student internship is a chance to acquire hands on experience helping to bring the 2022-23 Literary Magazine, Scribbler’s Ink, to publication as a digital e-zine for all to enjoy.

This Opportunity is for You!

The student intern for the 2022-23 school year will work closely with the supervising editor to bring the Literary Magazine from collection of submissions to publication. No experience is necessary, just an energetic and cooperative spirit! He/She will be encouraged to assume as much responsibility for the project as they feel comfortable with as the year progresses. This is a full year internship from September through May and bi-weekly ZOOM meetings for collaboration and planning will be conveniently scheduled according to the intern’s schedule. 

Responsibilities Include

Collection of submissions from past/present students - potentially designing content for Facebook or our online classroom encouraging student submissions

Reading/proofing submissions for appropriate content

Designing & creating an attractive & cohesive magazine layout using online magazine software

Communicating & collaborating with supervising editor

Writing a foreword for the edition prior to publication

Applicant requirements

Must be in grades 9-12 for the 2022/23 school year

Must be a current or former student with Online Scribblers

Must be enthusiastic about writing and encouraging new talent

Must have a collaborative mindset

Must have good time management skills and ability to work independently
